What to expect through therapy
Imagine a space where...
As a therapist who has done my own fair share of healing work, I like to work with people to help them create the kind of life they want to live. I see adults of all ages regarding a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, life transitions, life stressors & identity exploration. I've been in private practice more than three decades so I've worked with a wide variety of additional types of issues. It's almost as if I've heard every issue that might exist.
As a faith-based holistic therapist in Texas, I focus on aiding you navigate life’s challenges and heal from past experiences. I consider the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—to help you discover your strengths and build resilience. Whether you're facing relationship issues, anxiety, or trauma, I’m here to support your growth. If you're open to it, I can incorporate faith into our sessions, but I respect all belief systems. My goal is to create a non-judgmental space for positive change.
Hi, I’m Hannah Short, LCSW, founder of Rooted & Nourished Psychotherapy. I’m a licensed clinical social worker based in Texas, and my work is centered around helping women heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.
I specialize in eating disorder recovery, body image concerns, perinatal and postpartum support, and bariatric surgery mental health support. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through my partnership with Journey Clinical.
My approach is deeply compassionate, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that you are not “broken”—you’re navigating patterns that once helped you survive. Together, we slow down, get curious, and build a kinder, more connected relationship with your body and your mind.
I draw from IFS (parts work), somatic approaches, CBT/DBT skills, and attachment-based therapy, weaving in your story, your strengths, and your real-life context.
Before private practice, I worked extensively with adults navigating trauma, chronic dieting, postpartum transitions, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and the emotional toll of navigating healthcare systems. My clinical training includes a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston, postgraduate work in trauma and eating disorders, and ongoing advanced training in perinatal mental health and ketamine-assisted therapy.
Whether you're stepping into therapy for the first time or returning after a long break, my goal is simple: to create a safe space where you feel seen, supported, and understood. You don’t have to walk through this alone—healing starts with one small step, and I’m here to help you take it.
Hello, and welcome. My name is Cynthia Oputa, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. I believe that effective treatment begins with truly listening, building trust, and partnering with you to support your mental and emotional well-being.
I have a strong clinical background in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across the lifespan. My training allows me to integrate both psychotherapy and medication management, and I take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to care. I believe that combining therapeutic support with appropriate medication—when needed—offers a more holistic and sustainable path to healing.
My areas of interest include the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and stress-related concerns. I work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that respect personal values, goals, and lived experiences. I also encourage education and shared decision-making, empowering clients to feel informed and confident about their care.
Above all, my goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and respected. Whether you are seeking help for the first time or continuing your mental health journey, I am committed to walking alongside you with empathy, professionalism, and care.
